We arrived in Dubrovnik in the afternoon and picked up our rental car then headed south, collecting a couple more stamps in our passports as we passed through two borders.
It was a spectacular drive right along the water most of the way there. I kept gasping at the views.
We found our nice apartment overlooking the water( and a busy road) then went straight to find dinner in the old town. This is the view from Galeon restaurant where we were lucky enough to get a table overlooking this beautiful view.
The food wasn't bad either! Arugula salad with shaved Parmesan cheese. That's a half portion of mussels, which they split for us, without our asking. No one has done that for a long time. Certainly not the Italians , who were probably appalled by our sharing of plates...
They brought these little longes to the table and the first time jim saw them, he thought they were mints. Luckily he didn't eat one, because they expand when wet and are actually hand towels. Whoa, that could have been an accident waiting to happen!
Too many photos for one post, so I will do a two or three part post from Montenegro, my new favorite country.
