On the tourist trail

We are steeped in tourist venues on the southern coast of Sicily, and the ruins at Agrigento are definitely worth a visit. I wrote a long description of us getting into town and being very lost trying to find our hotel( 3 times! ) but it all disappeared, which is probably for the best. Suffice it to say that our B&B was at the top of the hill and not easy to drive to. Jim always tries and I cringe as we go through little narrow streets. I did once drive in Italy- briefly, when we lived in Orvieto, but that was many years ago, and I don't think I'd be brave enough now.
We saw there was a city bus, so we hopped on that for a little tour of town, and this time Jim could enjoy the views instead of keeping his eyes on the road.
I couldn't help but take some photos of Italian fashion to share

Hey, I think I saw a woman wearing this dress at a wedding yesterday!
We had fun wandering the streets once we did our bus tour.
But it was getting late, and we were getting cold, so it was time to find dinner. Of course, at 6 pm there are NO Italians eating dinner, and few restaurants open that early, but we did find one we liked that turned out to have a spectacular view.
And the good was good, too!
Jim's ragout of boar
And a clever presentation of spinach with lemon!
The B&B where we stayed was sweet, but a little over decorated with lots of bows everywhere...but they served a "traditional Sicilian breakfast" we were promised. I made a bet with Jim that it would be a croissant and coffee. I had to pay up when we saw the offerings!
Nearly all the pastries are filled with pastry cream- unless they are filled with Nutella. That's also popular. Couldn't possibly eat it all- but we made an effort! This has to end soon...
We were well fortified for our stroll through the Valley of Temples, though.
This was the long view of the temple originally dedicated to Castor and Pollux, then taken over and plastered over by Christians who dedicated it to Peter and Paul. the saints, that is.
I loved this bronze statue from 2011. Jim bought a postcard of this same view. And then there is the long shot, which is x rated.
This was on the back of his head.
Some beautiful redbud trees.
Jim thinks those are some big pillars!
Impressive restorations.
Once again earthquakes felled this city. Nice of Jim to carry my bag...
But it was time to move along. As we had reservations in Catania, up the road .
