More celebration

J
Saturday was supposed to be our "at home "day, but we decided to check out the farmers market in Ragusa before we were invited to our host's home for lunch( across the patio).
We had fun buying a bit if this and that - cheese, strawberries ,sausage and vegetables for later. We barely spent $10 on all of that, which was a fraction of what we would have spent at the farmers market at home.
I loved seeing how these strawberries grow. They were very tasty, but spoiled quickly, so best to eat them right away!
The old center of Ragusa called Ibla( Ible?) was fascinating and beautiful.
We did a driving tour so as to save my knee. What goes down must go up.
We ended up waaaay over on the other side, with gelato as our reward.
Jim was happy to have negotiated those narrow Italian streets without mishap.
Spiced orange chocolate and sparkling red wine gelato were my picks. Our Hawaiian insurance agent told us to eat gelato every day. We're trying to follow her advice...
A friend we saw on the road back to our casa.
Back home for a delicious lunch of traditional foods with simpatico people.
