Looking is not buying

"Looking is not buying" was a favorite phase that shopkeepers in Egypt said to get you to at least stop and take a look at their merchandise, in the hopes that you might decided to buy something.
I was a little reluctant to step into the a Grand Bazaar again, fearing an onslaught by those who wanted our attention ( and money) but things seemed to be pretty low key. Of course, I had to take photos for you, my readers, so you could go on a vicarious shopping trip through the Grand bazaar, too!
Put on your walking shoes, it's huge!
This is only one of many gates that leads into the bazaar. If you want to try to exit from the same gate where you entered, it can be confusing. Fortunately, we didn't, preferring just to wander the streets that led down the hill.
Makes me wish I could go back in time to wander these walkways back in the days before it became a tourist Mecca.
Lost yet?
I am not tempted by much here. I think I still have a couple of these bags from the last time I was here!
Nor did the " pashminas" tempt me, as I have a closet full of scarves at home, but they are beautiful to look at.
Now these, I could be tempted by! But a little impractical to bring home.
As you can see, Turkey is very colorful! I liked these bowls, but after you see them ten places, they lose some of their cachet.
Dont forget to look up at the colorfully painted ceilings!
Turkish carpets...don't get me started there...
Gorgeous hand embroidered textiles
The popular pomegranate design
Beautiful silk Ikat. I don't remember if this was the shop where the guy ran up and yelled " no photos!"
And I walked away. This is just a smal, small sampling of the hundreds of stalls here selling everything from jewelry to watches to shoes,  handbags, etc, etc.
Ok, I think that is enough visual stimulation, and you are probably tired of shopping by now. We'll take a break then continue on down the hill to the spice bazaar.
